Some time ago I started to decorate wooden hollow forms created by renowned woodturner Stuart Mortimer.
I enjoyed working images around the grain to create depth and a sense of things emerging from hidden places; but the most interesting grain would never be available in a viable format for larger paintings.
I’ve found OSB offers some of the same complex patterns that can be worked upon to create a feeling of layered depth, with the advantage it’s easy to source and cut to any size.
